We are thankful to Codeberg for hosting us so far, but we will not apologize for utilizing one of the biggest technological breakthroughs in decades for the development of open source software, nor for spending countless hours in order to create a great fediverse platform with unique features, bridging the microblogging and the threadiverse sides of fedi. If you need to judge the project, you can judge it by the end result instead of the tools we use for development.
We prefer not to be judged for just doing what we love and making it available to everyone for free, though, so we're excited to join Codefloe!
- Federated Blogs added: new long-form blog system with standalone blog pages, blog profiles, RSS feeds, tags, search, drafts, scheduled publishing, thumbnails, custom slugs, and per-blog light/dark theming.
- ActivityPub Article support expanded: blogs federate as Articles, including title/body edits, inline images, tags, thumbnails, blog-profile metadata, and remote user blog discovery/backfill via outbox.
- Native Mastodon API implementation: vendored megalodon was removed and replaced with an in-process Mastodon client/API shim. Adds broader entity coverage, OAuth scope hardening, filters v1/v2, featured tags, live notification streaming, custom feeds as read-only lists, and many mobile-client compatibility fixes.
- Community banners upgraded: Community banners can use Drive-backed banner images, support pinned sidebar placement, nullable expiry, always-show pinned banners, and sort order.
- Profile/timeline UX polish: profile note search, remote/local Blog tab handling, better Article image containment, long blog posts collapsed under “Show more”, sticky post-formatting bar, single-screen sign-in, and password reveal on inputs.
- Mobile/browser fixes: multiple Firefox Android text-selection fixes, safe-area footer cap, mobile navbar alignment fixes, and reaction-picker close/hover behavior fixes.
- Backend reliability/performance: timeline packing avoids a costly reply-count CTE, viewer relation caches are fetched once per note batch, blocked-user cache bulk fetch fixed, notes/accounts-activity crash fixed, first-same-day-login 500 fixed, and backend typechecks were cleaned up.
- Additional reliability, cleanup, and performance polish across preferences, temp files, profile pictures, post editing, and active timelines.
