Trying my best to get the dresser delivered. The links don't work, the site doesn't work, can't get to a person on the phone. Please just deliver me my dresser 😭

@i_dabble @cblgh I finished it back in August, actually, but never found the energy to reply here. Yeah, the book is very good, and I've already recommended it to some people. I liked it most for the world that is described; it's of course also a political message, inviting us readers to question our world. I think there's a sequel? I think I'll read it one day
A Varvara machine knows about a keyboard, a pointer device, and a NES-style 8-button gamepad, that is, D-Pad, A, B, Start, Select. The question is, how do we map all of that on a modern standard gamepad, or one of those retro emulator handhelds?
Spent a part of my restless night thinking about that. The answer is found.
The NES gamepad is mapped verbatim.
The mouse is activated by holding L2. When it is held, left stick is moving mouse, right stick is two scroll wheels, ABX are the three mouse buttons.
The keyboard is represented by a novel input method. Along the left and right edges of the screen there are vertical cards. With the left stick you select a group from the left, with the right stick you select the exact character from the group. They would be grouped per the usage frequency. To enter a character, you make a gesture with both sticks. L1/R1 would change layers. R2 would change layouts, usually languages.
This IME is slower than a regular keyboard, less intuitive than an onscreen keyboard, but 4 times more fun than either, and takes little onscreen space.

@raffomania oh hello!
Drew a storyboard for a comic. 8 pages of A5 pages. I can do this. Hope it won't take 4 years as it did with Aronia Zine.
The last comic I did went nowhere despite actually completing it. The anthology it was supposed to be in was never released. It was about a pipepunk recovering his long-lost folklore with a help of a flying horse.

I have finally acquired White Pencil, and I am unstoppable.

I'm staying near the Taksim square. Every day I see a small girl here playing a melodica. Can't help but compare her to Pino from Ergo Proxy.
Also, these European attached bottle caps that I used to laugh at are unexpectedly good. No more dropping the cap at the worst time.
