It was kind of the default in my family growing up. And the pizza there was new York style, thin crust.

Since then I’ve gotten more in the habit of toppings and only occasionally get a simple cheese. A really well made cheese pizza is thing of beauty, there is a certain quality you get from it that is lost when you as toppings. The thing is, though, it has to be just right, and lots of places that make a good pizza with toppings don’t know how to make a really good cheese pizza, so to be worth ordering one, it has to be from the right place, made on a good night. IMO its got to be a thin ny style crust with a really good sauce.

Which leads to asking, are there any technological advances they could learn from it and duplicate, and how much could those affect the war?

Funerals, among other things, are an event that reminds us that there are things more important than the petty shit we squabble about and hold against one another. Whatever flaws we all have, we are all human, we are all going to die someday, and we are all going to lose those we love if we don’t die first. It’s a time to set all that petty shit aside and remember that.

In general increasing the fiber content will help make you feel fuller. That could be part of what is going on with the onions. I’d suggest other things to add fiber also, like say kale, or whatever greens you like, some whole grains (another comment suggested oats or barley, wheat berries, rye berries, farro are good options too). And beans!

Your example shows how far cultural norms have shifted. Reading a paper around others is anti social in a culture where you are expected to interact with and give others your attention.

Each generation may react the same way to the new behaviors of the next generation, but that does mean those new behaviors do not form a consistent trend representing real change in the culture. In this case that trend is increasing individualism and weakening of community norms.

I might be mistaken, but I think a thumb only gesture is offensive in some cultures. Not sure how important the hand orientation is.

This has been going on for generations. The world used to be a much more dyi, less prepackaged place. Each generation does less and less for themselves. I see the difference between my father’s generation and my own as well as between my generation and later ones. Shit, my grandfather built his own fucking house.

Bad posture can be the result of muscles holding onto dysfunctional tension. The problem might not be that muscle X is too weak, but that your body (really your motor sensory system) has developed the idea that holding tension in muscle Y is normal.

There are exercises or “movements” geared for this. Try looking up “somatics.” It worked for me.
