@liaizon @th @mntmn Lots of interesting research projects from Nadya Peek over the years. I remember reading about her research projects in the past, via a few friends who had known her at MIT.

“Her work focuses on unconventional digital fabrication tools, small scale automation, networked control systems, and advanced manufacturing.”

OSHWA (Open Source Hardware Association) also has a Board Member profile page for her. oshwa.org/team/nadya-peek/

@benjamineskola @jwildeboer It is easy to be critical of the U.S.-based companies, but there are a lot of questionable rules and regulations happening also in the EU. Regardless of the region, it is all about balancing the risk and reward. If a company would resist against changes required by the official government regulations, every new upcoming regulation change would increase the legal cost of resisting future changes. It starts to get expensive eventually, even for a multinational corporation. (That is why they limit visibility of map changes to individual countries, as there are a lot more country-specific map changes around the world, than just one lake name change.)
