@amir QT? I'm skeptical right away. but anyway, if they reverse-engineered the API, we can build something decent.

@amir Given it's QT, I don't hold out much hope. Even those apps that do their absolute best to add accessibility in, they are ten times buggier than just using native controls in my experience.

@daygar Yeah exactly. Accessibility can be worse than Meta's Desktop app. But I just hope either or both Rust projects I posted later can be more promising access-wise.

@amir I don't know much about UI in Rust. Gotta say though, considering I'm not a big fan of the language itself I can't deny that it seems to be a pretty stable system.

@daygar The word "WhatsApp" irks me to the point that I lack the required energy to install the accessibility of either of these Rust projects.

@amir @daygar To be fair I'm not having any issues here on the whatsapp beta, but I agree there about the word whatsapp. Just some silly way of saying what's up

@TomGrant91 @amir Yeah I remember when I first heard about it I was like, "Huh? What's app? Surely we all know what an app is..." before they had to explain to me that was its name. Then I sat there laughing for about five minutes.

@amir I just tried it, and got rid of it in a hurry! at least with NVDA, all of the set up screens just read a checked, checked, checked unchecked, ETCF as you are tabbing threw things. I can't manage to read what each checkbox is. if the setup screens are that bad, I can only imagine what the actual app would be like once you get threw the setup screeens. I was willing to give it a try, but nope. no thanks. smile.
