@lispi314 As WordPress.org is still Matt's personal website and he's still leading the project, this requires a fork.

And a fork is impossible because the project's structure is designed with that in mind.

Further reports suggest that Mary Hubbard has announced that she is staying as the "executive director of WordPress" (which is in administrative sense MMs personal website) and that MM is still leading the WordPress project.

@lispi314 it's his dead-man switch. Nothing works unless he approves of it personally and it shows.

WP and the systems run by Automattic have been limited for literal decades because has a say in any technical decision despite allegedly not learning anything new since 2005.
