I wonder how heavy these doors are... How buff do you need to be to get this sucker open manually?

1.) The driver will molest an unaccompanied minor.
2.) The driver will sexually assault me.
3.) The driver will drive me somewhere remote and rob me.
4.) The driver may be drunk/distracted/unfamiliar with our laws and will crash.

Some people are 'annoyed' by drivers that try to strike up a conversation, but I don't hear that as a reason people *won't* take a cab, merely that it makes the experience worse. (for them, obviously)

@ai6yr Who are the customers for *any* of these driverless taxis?

People who are either incredibly naïve, or those who don’t like the thought of being in a car driven by a non-white person.

@markc568 @ai6yr I suspect there are a lot of people who are socialized not to trust other people. (regardless of race) Waymo, (unlike Tesla) has a pretty consistent experience. At some point there will likely be a solid empirical basis for understanding the risk. Here are the taxi "screeds" I've heard multiple times;
