Most people use a positing service like Podbean, iTunes, or Spotify. Sadly, that’s where you need to go for most normies to find you.
That said, there is an open source self-hosting option that ties in with the fediverse called castopod which is really easy to use and looks nice. Iirc they can also tie into other platforms (don’t quote me on that), but I never really needed to when I was hosting mine.
