I've heard of a tabletop RPG called MCDM. It's by a guy named Matt Colville. He's a popular youtuber, but I have an irrational hatred of his voice and mannerisms, so I don't watch him.

I heard it's possible that they've got a drop-in replacement system for 5e D&D. So I went to the MCDM website's About page. mcdmproductions.com/story and holy shit is it a rambling mess, like the kind of 500-page essay you have to scroll past to see a recipe, except there's no recipe at the end

I'm trying to collect an updated list of drop-in D&D 5e replacements. That is, those that can use adventures and supplementary material designed for 5e D&D. I'm aware of many alternate systems, and invested quite heavily in Pathfinder 2eR, but my purpose is to make a list of drop-in replacements.

If you have more information on this MCDM thing and its relation to 5e, I'd like to know. Because I guess their website doesn't want to tell me.

So far I've found two major alternatives with online rules:
* Black Flag Roleplaying (Tales of the Valiant) from Kobold Press
* Level Up Advanced 5e from ENWorld

I could've sworn there was a third one I found a couple years ago but I forgot and web searches are fucking useless nowadays. But I'm still working on it. If you have any pointers that would be helpful.
