Dad bought Purnell's Concise Encyclopedia of Science for me when I was a kid. I read it from cover to cover so many times. I used to carry it with me to school so I could keep referring to it.

I still have it over 50 years later.

An old hard cover book of just over A4 size. The image on the cover is an illustration of the Lunar Lander from the Apollo moon landings making its descent on to the moon. It is overlaid with photos of: High stone arches of a bridge over a gorge. A pilot being strapped into a test seat in a laboratory. A patient in a very early full body medical scanner. A car body being dipped into red paint in a car factory. The book title is: Purnell's Concise Encyclopedia of Science.
