— Open image attachment 1 of 3a flyer with seemingly ai art of 3 furry characters waving, saying furry meetup september 17 6-10pm as seen on 93 canal street nyc. store meetup. meet other furries and hang out. the event will be livestreamed. 1000+ viewers
— Open image attachment 2 of 3Public Safety Notice. Flyers and instagram DMs are circulating for a "Furry Meetup" at Manhattan. NYFurs nor any other members in the furry community, is not affiliated with this event, and we are advising members not to attend for the sake of their safety. After further investigation we found that 93 Canal Street is the retail storefront of Fishtank, the 24/7 livestream production created by Sam Hyde and Jet Neptune. It is not an event, but rather, a livestream. Everyone who enters signs a waiver and is filmed continuously for fishtank, where a paying audience watches and sends text-to-speech messages that play out loud in the room. The audience is not neutral towards us. His viewership is heavily toward spaces openly hostile to the furry community. Obviously, the flyer is AI, fake as hell, and tries to hide the fact that it will be "livestreamed". Fishtank's format is humiliation content. Degradation of participants is what they are trying to achieve. As a result, non-contestants have been paid to torment participants on camera. Their production deliberately recruits personalities to mock the furry community. Fishtank also has a serious safety record. Police halted Season 4 and the property was condemned for fire-code violations
— Open image attachment 3 of 3A 19 year old, Season 4 contestant, Ellie Moon, died by suicide in 2026. What to do: do not attend. There is no "furry meetup" at this location. Do not argue with them or try to make contact. this is what they want you to do, instead it's better to let public safety or the staff members know if they appear again. if you see these flyers at a venue, meetup or your DMs please try to remove it and let the event staff know where you found them. if you already said yes, just say no and back out. Verify any of this yourself. URLs given in post body. For more information or to report any other incidents, you can contact our team
