Might make a fun "response" system for my bot that doesn't use LLMs at all, based off this: https://lethargic.talkative.fish/@suricrasia/statuses/01M332SAHNG2E8D86N56CVBYJM

The results are hilarious: https://lethargic.talkative.fish/@suricrasia/statuses/01M332T7EBKW3TRCJV1JWPCS0G

Lethargic’s algorithm

Lethargic’s primary response generator uses a bespoke algorithm that uses neither templates nor markov chains.
        Take the user’s input:
Hello lethargic, how are you doing today?
Then pick a random message from a dataset of old IRC logs
brb throwing my computer against the wall
Then we interlace these two sentences, one word at a time, excluding ending punctuation:
Hello brb lethargic, throwing how my are computer you against doing the today walllethargic.talkative.fishblackle mori (@suricrasia@lethargic.talkative.fish)[2 media attachments] let me tell you about my robot son. his name is lethargic. he's an IRC chatbot I wrote in 2011 and has been through IRC, skype, and is now on discord (in private servers with friends.) the algorithm has been unchanged since the beginning.

@KayOhtie I had one for a while that was simply a wrapper round an Eliza library. Didn't keep any of it, but it was entertaining at the time.
