Reddit imposes new restrictions on Old Reddit - Engadget

“We’re concentrating our resources on the areas that will drive results for our most pressing needs, improving the core product, making Reddit a go-to search engine, and expanding internationally.” --Steve Huffman

“Wait. No! Not like that!” --Also Steve Huffman

Search engine? 🤷‍♂️

yep. Forums used to be a thing but they have faded a long while ago for things like reddit and discord. Real websites are usually garbage designed to trip search engine results and now it’s a ton of AI slop too.

So people started including reddit in their search to get the info they wanted. And now reddit has noticed and is leaning into that

Reddit IS a forum, full stop. It's not a new or unique idea.

This place is also a forum. You can down vote this post all you like, but you're still doing it on a forum.

Does reddit know this? Someone should let them know
