Minor asterisk: we need to move away from abusive tech business practices altogether. It’s distressing how people can see the problem and recreate it like with Bluesky. I hope we can build better systems now rather than doing this all over again with european monopolists in 10 years.

Doesn’t matter about the software. You want them to stop being pieces of shits with malicious practices yet capitalism encourages the greater shits to a fight to be the biggest piece of shit on the planet.
