I remember when we were all trying to “learn the internet” still and Ask Jeeves was the search engine my school chose and we literally learned in class how to use search engines. The last stage trials came out when I was in the ICU waiting for my lungs, it wasn’t an option I was too sick. That said I’m glad I got new lungs since I’m significantly healthier now than the people I know going the gene editing route, obviously survivorship bias is at play since I got great lungs but I’m very healthy these days, even if I did end up living in the ICU for 6 months, 3 pre transplant and 3 post, we joke I paid for them upfront since I hadn’t had any serious issues after I was discharged, other than the mental toll of course.

He’s been obviously struggling since he got cancer. He’s in remission now and that’s great but I’ve been watching him slowly slip into PTSD. I have medical PTSD, I have cystic fibrosis and had a double lung transplant in 2014 and I see him devolving the same way I did. I’m literally two days away from getting out of an inpatient trauma treatment center that I’ve been at for a month because I didn’t take the medical PTSD seriously because I didn’t realize I needed to, I think he is in the same boat. I think he was already spread way too thin then cancer happened and he’s stuck in a hyper reactive state which is exhausting and eventually leads to the more classic PTSD symptoms and he’s probably turning to LLMs to try to keep up as the PTSD drains his batteries and he’s unaware of it. I hope he gets help soon and he doesn’t wait for it to get as bad as I did, PTSD kills if you let it get away from you.

This is how most women experience sex when they talk about lack of orgasm in my experience. I would say all or nearly all of my sexual encounters go exactly like this, I’m a woman and I’ve talked about this with my female friends who often or always experience the same thing. For me though there’s no psych meds involved, it’s just what having an unfulfilling partner (someone who might turn you on physically but neglects your mind) is like.

I guess they’re waiting for Peter Thiel to save them, again, when he turns the data centers into data lakes for palantir and we go full surveillance state. I do believe there is some end game these tech billionaires believe is on the horizon that we aren’t really privy to, it’s just a matter of them making it come to fruition before reality crashes down on their heads. Bankrupting them faster through boycotts is a good way the average person can help speed up reality and slow down their progress.

I mean I’d rather have my kid have a better education over all if they’re addicted to their phones or not.

As a mom of two in a country where school shootings do happen far more frequently than anywhere else in the world, the US, I fully support completely banning phones from schools. The benefit to my kids education overall far outweighs the minuscule chance something would happen where they need their phones or a shooting took place. I say this also as a former American student who’s school did go on lock down a few times for active shooters in the area, like the time a local bank got robbed or when they found a “kill list” some kid made. It just doesn’t make sense to me to degrade education across the board in the very very off chance my kid, or even myself, was at the location of a school shooting.

The amount of times I got asked “so you support the terrorists?!?” When I brought up any counter point… yes, me a 16 year old milquetoast white girl from a poor American family with both parents in the military is actually a Taliban supporter, yep, you got me!
