Cliparr 1.2.0 - Offline Video Converter

Cliparr 1.2.0 is out, with many small improvements and a new convert tool.

Cliparr is a self-hosted browser-based personal media clipper. Load up Jellyfin or Plex to the moment you want to capture, open Cliparr, and export.

What’s New

  • Offline, browser-based video converter with GIF support.
  • Fix Jellyfin HLS streams not transcoding
  • Add user-select filter for popular servers

See the release notes: cliparr.dev/changelog/#v1.2.0

Read more about adding GIF support to Cliparr, it wasn’t as simple as it sounds: cliparr.dev/blog/convert-video-in-your-browser/

Oi!

For me the 1.2.0 does not work.

docker install, starting the container fails because of

cliparr | 21:08:46.567 WRN cliparr·server·db Could not set filesystem permissions. cliparr | 21:08:46.573 FTL cliparr·server·lifecycle 'unable to open database file'
cliparr exited with code 1 (restarting)

This is defaut install and the volume/database has not been tampered with.
V1.1.1 works.

Sorry but I can’t open an issue in Github.

Edit: nice work, btw!

sopuli.xyzWho else can't create Github account? - SopuliTl;dr: Impossible to create a new github account. Long version: This morning I noticed my WG tunnel was not working anymore. After some troubleshooting, I noticed it was the new android app which was the problem. So I wanted to report it. Like many other (FOSS) projects, it goes… through Github. sigh OK, since my older account has been flagged (aka Shadow banned) because I use an email alias, I need a new account. So I had to complete many weird captchas. [https://sopuli.xyz/pictrs/image/4523002e-a26b-4a18-9579-cb4902eff80f.webp] Well after all (see post image), registering is not possible. :D I followed Github troubleshooting steps, I realized the issue is with arkoselabs, one of their captcha supplier. Somehow it does not load, even with a clean new firefox (listed as supported browser) install without extension. But no problem since arkoselabs support was so helpful… [https://sopuli.xyz/pictrs/image/90f8eb6d-7ba7-4979-abab-51fc256a5f50.webp] sigh… So I decided to give a try opening
