Anthropic is bragging about rolling their own from-scratch in-house version control system because git couldn't keep up with their 30,000 commits per day, and it doesn't seem to occur to them for a nanosecond that they are not fixing the actual problem in their engineering practices but making it exponentially worse

@0xabad1dea honestly I'm pretty amused that they think they can do better than git with vibe coded slop. Human engineers made a system that isn't efficient enough? Simply tell the human-engineer-code-thief to plagiarize something faster! Surely this will result in a version control system that meets their needs, rather than a steaming pile of security vulnerabilities that only works intermittently by random coincidence!

@raphaelmorgan well, git also wasn't efficient enough until GitHub tried to do it at a scale. The only difference is, Microsoft back then decided to improve git instead of inventing something even worse¹

not to protect anthropic tho, 30k/day is completely insane. Even if you're doing it monorepo style

[1] git may have bad UX, but I'm 100% sure it's better than whatever Microsoft could do
