@wakest bookwyrm already federates on some basic level, see https://staging3.plamenu.com/@wobblywario@bookwyrm.social , I'll need to take a closer look on it and on neodb that's for sure.
As for the feature parity, as much as I like the everything app idea where you can author everything and federate with everyone I don't think I will be introducing new specialized "book reviews" sidebar tab or post type anytime soon, but I'd like to at least properly receive and display the activitypub objects, whatever they happen to contain

@lnkr I agree you don't want to get too out of hand in supporting totally different features. I guess trying to figure out where your borders and edges are for this project is gonna need to happen sooner or later.

without adding too specific bookwyrm support you could show their native post content without using the flattened image version they make for mastodon.
