Want to support the onionverse today? Jonah is doubling every donation you make towards the Tor Project + three relay operator associations, @emeraldonion, @triplebit, and @unredacted. Make a donation at the link in his original post. Thank you @jonah!
Jonah Aragon@jonah@neat.computerI'm fundraising on Daffy.org for the Tor Project as well as three different nonprofit Tor relay operators: Emerald Onion, Triplebit, and Unredacted.
And, I'm matching all donations up to $3000! Which means if you donate...
- 50% of your donation will go to @torproject,
- 50% to @emeraldonion,
- 50% to @triplebit, and
- 50% to @unredacted
= 200% donations! 😎🎉
Why donate?
The Tor network is an invaluable tool for journalists, activists, vulnerable individuals, and everyday privacy seekers looking to bypass censorship and avoid tracking on the internet.
While the Tor Project itself develops the software and operates valuable infrastructure, its privacy-preserving network relies on a huge network of independent, community volunteer-run relay servers to carry that traffic.
Unredacted, Emerald Onion, and Triplebit are three organizations among many who are operating high-capacity privacy-focused infrastructure for the public good.
All three projects run their own hardware and own their own IP addresses and networks, which is a significant expense over VPS hosting in the name of improved privacy, and requires extraordinary support from their donors to continue operating 😊
