Earthbong is a three-piece doom band from Kiel/Germany. The band was formed in 2018 and released three studio records, a live album and one EP so far. Earthbong are heading towards the riff-filled land with their unique blend of doom, metal and sludge: “They're like a Bongzilla-Sleep-Milkshake. But they get it. They are their own thing." (Mike Scheidt, YOB).

Earthbong has toured Australia in spring 2025, including headlining performances at Sun Burn Festival and Stoned To Death Fest Sydney and shared the stage with the ancestors of the bong metal genre like Bongzilla, Bongripper and Belzebong. They also supported bands such as The Obsessed, Unida and Firebreather. With more than 90 shows over the past years, including festivals like ReykjaDoom Festival (Iceland), Stoned From The Underground (DE), Rock in Bourlon (FR) and Hoflärm Open Air (DE), Earthbong earned a reputation as one of the heaviest and best live acts within the underground doom scene.

Their 4th studio album SALUTATIONS TO THE CULTIVATORS will be released on October 23rd 2026 via The Lasting Dose Records (Vinyl, CD, digital) and Evil Noise Recordings (Cassette), followed by a show at the legendary Høstsabbat Festival in Oslo/Norway.

More shows and festivals for 2026/2027 are planned.

Imbued with a frantic Afro-Latin pulse, lead single "CICATRIZES" (SCARS) is available to listen to today and features a dirty, danceable and sweat-soaked intersection between raw punk and clave-led Afro-Cuban music, with a futuristic approach and bloodshot eyes. Heavy pulsating 808 bass drums hit hard as a characteristic D-beat foundation for Sarine's ultrafast percussion played in the Guaguancó rhythm, driving a relentless Acid-House bassline and fuzzed walls of guitar riffs while processed vocals screams in absolute madness.

Spirit Mother is a heavy rock band, originating in Long Beach, CA and now based in rural PNW Burns, Oregon. Their sound is anthologized through a folk-informed and classical lens. Their dynamic and imposing wall of sound, coupled with a driving backbeat, grips through atmospheric strings and haunting vocals.

Guitarist/vocalist and songwriter, Armand Lance, creates the bones of the music in the attic of his rural ranch between cattle working and mustang wrangling - a likeness to his father’s upbringing as a cowboy in Ecuador. Joined by cofounder of the band, SJ, Mia Rose, and Michael Fenris, the group convenes at this cabin to write and develop their repertoire before hitting the road for tour nationally and abroad.

The band signed to Heavy Psych Sounds Records while in studio for their sophomore album “Trails” in between with regional west coast tours throughout the winter and spring of 2024. The Heavy Chronicles marked it as the black sheep of the Heavy Psych

Sounds Records catalog, noting “Trails” reveals a band with a hybrid sound as much inspired by the hypnotic, harsh Americana of rural midwestern ghost towns as by the steamy shoegaze of the early ’90s. The fall release of “Trails” came with another coast-to-coast US tour in the with stops at Desert Fest NYC and Levitation Fest in Austin, Tx, as well as supporting European dates in the summer of 2025 across festivals Rock Im Wald, Blue Moon Festival, Burg Herzberg, and Hoflärm, and clubs across the continent in between.

The band returned home and locked themselves away over the Fall and Winter to embark on their most ambitious project yet: to write, record, and self-produce their 3rd studio album in the same attic that inspires the music. From conception, to birth. Spirit

Mother’s new album will be out with Sound Of Liberation Records on September 4th, 2026 with European tour dates to follow.

The Asteroid No.4 is an American psych-rock and shoegaze band now based in the San Francisco, after moving from Philadelphia in 2011. Formed in the late 90s, the group has earned a loyal underground following through immersive live shows characterized by layered guitars and heavy reverb. They boast a prolific discography, including 13 studio albums alongside numerous EPs and singles. Their signature sound blends shoegaze, 12-string folk-rock, Kosmische Musik, and cosmic country.

The band was founded by childhood friends Scott Vitt and Eric Harms, who previously played in punk and Smiths tribute acts. Inspired by 90s British shoegaze, they recruited bassist Gregg Weiss and drummer Bill Reim to complete the original lineup, debuting with a self-released 7-inch single on their own Lounge Records label.The name "The Asteroid No.4" honors Vesta (the solar system's brightest asteroid) and the UK psych band Spacemen 3. Notably, their cover of Spacemen 3's "Losing Touch with My Mind" on a 1998 tribute album was publicly praised by founding member Sonic Boom in Magnet Magazine.

Acid Rooster blends German krautrock and psych-rock with cosmic jams. The childhood trio crafts instrumental music that shifts between ambient spheres and heavy, climactic riffs. Juke Cove are a three-piece from Leipzig, Germany, crafting a distinctive and energetic fusion of stoner rock, doom, and psychedelia, spiked with a dose of punk spirit. Since forming in 2018, the band has developed a sound defined by hypnotic basslines, riff-heavy grooves, and songs that twist rather than follow the obvious path. Their dynamic songwriting and raw stage presence have become hallmarks of their live shows.

Their last two records, Remedy and Tempest, were released via Interstellar Smoke Records and received strong international recognition, including placements on the Doom Charts. In recent years, Juke Cove have supported genre heavyweights such as King Buffalo, 1000 Mods, Rotor,

Mars Red Sky and Dopelord. After multiple gigs across Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic, their reputation continues to grow in the European heavy underground.

Neetscha is a glam/garage/psych-pop musical tour-de-force. The band’s punk rock energy and catchy hooks are steered by electronic undertones and driven by uniquely fierce female and male vocals.

The band has been compared to artists such as La Femme, Fat White Family, Black Lips and PJ Harvey.

MONDO VIDEO 4: RED SPIRIT LAKE + SPLATTER FARM

For its fourth edition, Mondo Video is dragging two of the most deranged tapes the prime shot-on-video horror era ever spat out, into the light.

When Marilyn sets out to settle her aunt’s estate in the backwoods of Angel Falls, she throws open the gates of hell: her supernatural witch-aunt drew on the powers of Red Spirit Lake, refused to pass them on, and was murdered for it. Now she haunts the SOV fever dream of Charles Pinion’s RED SPIRIT LAKE (1993), best described as stoner surrealism, creatures shambling through snow-covered landscapes, washed-out images, garish seas of color that evoke the cinema of Mario Bava, orgies of violence and sauna sex, all laced with Lynchian atmospheres. You won’t believe it until you’ve seen it.

Twin brothers Alan and Joseph are on their way to a summer trip to visit Aunt Lacey, not knowing it will likely be their last. Together with her farmhand, Lacey lives shut away on a run-down farm where the two of them have succumbed to a fascination with rotting human flesh. For the siblings, a ride to hell begins, one that leads straight to the grave. SPLATTER FARM (1987) is a relentless string of abysmal perversions, captured by the Polonia brothers in the dreamlike quality of VHS amateur film. Here, untouched rural country meets the quirks of a threadbare farmhouse interior.

Before the tapes roll, @valbarano will open the crypt on SOV as a whole. He is the author of Aesthetic Deviations (Headpress, 2023), the first book to take American shot-on-video horror seriously as an art form. He drags these camcorder nightmares into the same room as Bazin, Kracauer and Brakhage and dares you to keep sneering.
