It was me/CodeFloe who got confronted here by Codeberg resp. their representatives. Not the other way round.
I've been with Codeberg for many years and, did a lot of work on the infrastructure and alike. I never received anything for it (I also didn't ask).
I've been a paying member for years.
I've been trying to build bridges many times but every time one just slightly moves of the "ideal" path (seen from CB values) or says something not entirely positive around (active) infrastructure practices (or rather issues), people get confronted and essentially declared "unwelcomed".
The amount and depth of judgment coming from it's users is extraordinary (at times) and the discussion points of AI and crypto mainly bring these to light now.
I personally find that behavior disrespectful and it also contradicts the values of "not harming anyone" which the platform itself promoted so heavily - which is actually ironic.
Codeberg might have started out differently but, for some years now, is on a path to become more a policital/ethical association than advancing as a technical platform. This year's GA was a good reflection of that as most of the 3h spent there was around those ethical discussions and wordings and almost no time was spent on advancing in technical areas.
This might be OK for the people driving it but also disappointing for many others which hoped to find a technically solid home for their code that doesn't sell their data and isn't run in the US.
