@gemlog Yes, especially in Europe. We have both Braille and that readable print (large and touchable) on guardrails at most train stations in France and in Germany at least. It says, for example, the track number or the street name.

It is present in Icelandic, Mongolian, isiXhosa (Nelson Mandela's real name is Rolihlahla Mandela, and you pronounce R like in French roughly, but unvoiced, and Hl exactly like Ll in Welsh). It also exists in Tolkienian Elvish languages. for example, hlas is "ear" in Quenya, and you pronounce it with this sound also.

@gemlog Oh, cyrillic! I mean, print form is okay, even I do know it and can read it if it's big enough to fit under my finger (my "native" reading font is Braille of course), but the handwritten form is absolute nightmare 😂

It was a stream where two people tried to advertise their purely vibe-coded products, without any attention to the quality of said products, nor to customer support. tifloStream is quite a particular type of streams at TifloInfo: it leverages expert opinions, it's often polemic and often quite straight. So if you come there to present your product, expect sharp questions, critics (without insulting of course!), but those people expected praises and cheers. Nikolett would elaborate if she wants, because I was one of the moderators, and she was a listener 😊

I tried to ask priests about that, but received no viable answer, maybe I'll try more because it really interests me, how Christians perceive it.
I received however an interesting answer from a Jewish woman: she said, at least according to some rabbis (dear Jewish friends, correct me, but, as we say in Russian, "I sold it for the price I bought it"), that it's more of a symbolism that Adam was created. That means, he was the first man (and Eve, the first woman) to have spiritual experience and to communicate with God himself, so there were other humans, just not spiritually enlightened. Again, it's what I was told, but to be honest, this subject has always interested me from the theological perspective. I'm not a Christian, but learning religions is always interesting.

@gemlog Fediverse is a mostly leftist bubble, often far left, and if you don't agree with people and try to engage in a calm discussion (hopefully, like our conversation is now), many start aggressing and insulting you. We, blind people, were exiled from Twitter not out of political reasons, or not only out of them, but because before we had either accessible, or specially written third-party clients for Twitter. Now we do the same for Mastodon, for example, I'm writing from an app with literally no UI (it has one, but I use the so-called invisible interface, where screen reader just talks when I press certain keys).
Also, about accessibility. When we say this frentic "go Linux!!! Now!!!" stuff doesn't work, because Windows is by far, by far the most accessible OS out there (same with Microsoft Office/google docs, Chrome, etc., etc.) — often we get insulted or, if not, the usual open-source answer: "It's open-source, go fix on your own". But I can't fix everything, from OS to office suite to email client to media player to… you got it.
And it's quite hard to communicate with people in such an environment, especially given that Fediverse promotes itself as a super welcoming sweet tender fluffy place.
Recently a gentleman surviving consequences of a major stroke was literally aggressed and bullied by AI haters because he uses AI. And there are many causes where "there are two opinions, ours and incorrect". And if you dispute a bit harsher and enter into polemics, you are often "fediblocked" by those activists, so basically the whole decentralized nature of the Fediverse becomes a hoax.
Anyway, sorry for those musings, it's just how I feel those last times here.

@gemlog born blind, yes. And it's parallel, I mean, there are blind folks who are amazingly good at soldering, assembling, drilling and doing other stuff, I admire them but it's not me. And no, nowadays I'm not rich, unfortunately. As for alts, to be honest, in Fedi there are lots of them, by far more than wherever else. I have many things to say about the Fediverse that I don't like, but this obsession with alts is gorgeous!
