Dude, it felt like it took 15 minutes to watch a maybe a 2 minute video. It was horrible. And like I said, Vicks Vapo Rub? Who on earth, who owns a set of twigs n’ berries, would even contemplate this? Sometimes my friends will call me over to look at some problem with their computer. It’s 99.999% Windows 11. OMG! I just want to rage quit the whole scene. Ads on Windows itself. Ads on webpages. Popups. Here an ad, there and ad, everywhere an ad, ad. The whole scene would be complete if they had 5 toolbars in Explorer like it was popular to do back in the day. And I’m like ‘How do you all do this?’. At the very, very least install Ublock Origin ffs. But what happens is that Ublock will sometimes just block everything. Out of the box it’s generally good. But you have to adjust it sometimes per site and those adjustments carry over to the next time you’re on the site. That’s where everyone disables it and goes back to ads everywhere. I’m like ‘Didn’t we just have an hour long training session about this last time I was over here?’

While I still use Windows 10, it’s very stripped down and there’s no way I’m moving to Windows 11. For all you Linux purists, yes, I also use Linux and Mac. Settle down! LOL

GPT4All can accommodate a plethora of models all the way until you run out of VRAM. LOL Maybe play around with some of them. Right now I’m experimenting with DeepSeek R1 Distill Qwen 14 B, and Qwen 2.5 Coder -32B Instruct GGUF. Pretty neat stuff.

I’d buy that. As a mediocre musician, one can even subconsciously ‘sample’ a copyrighted piece. I mean, there are only so many chords and combinations, melodies, etc, so duplicates, and even exact duplicates are bound to happen whether intentional or not. If you upload your track to say SoundCloud on the professional plan with which you intend to generate revenue, the track is heavily scrutinized, and often rejected for this very reason. You actually have to prove it’s OC by various means. They don’t want any pieces parts of any litigation that may even mildly involve them. So, I can see that.

Sure, that’s good. I understand how a beta test works. You test out the product, and contribute to the product with your feedback, and you usually get to keep said product. I was just quoting what was on the App store, which $5.99 for an app that is conducive to my needs is nothing really.

I pretty much said this in the other thread. Unless you own the platform, or a significant investor in said platform, you are subject to the whims of the platform, good, bad, or indifferent. Some don’t like that I guess because they feel like they supported the platform, may have contributed to the platform, but at the end of the day, the platform dictates law for the platform.

Kind of like lemmy.selfhosted. There are rules. If you don’t bother yourself with reading the rules before posting, you get what you get.

About 25-30 years ago, I converted the dining room of my house into a rather large food pantry. It’s just me, so I have little use for a dining room. So I use grocy & barcode buddy to track stock. When I bring in food stock it gets scanned in. When I consume food stock, it gets scanned out. I have an old Android tablet for the display and I have a hand scanner I bought off Amazon for $20. Actually works pretty well, and you can track stock levels. So if you are at the store, and there is a great sale on 50 lb sacks of flour, you can check stock and make a decision from there.

For recipes, I’ve been using CookTrace and I really like it. Mealie and CookTrace are pretty similar in a side by side comparison. I can bring recipes up on the Android tablet from the kitchen.

You’re welcome. I think they’ve made pretty decent strides especially with the companion app and the fact that YT is relentless in trying to circumvent frontends.

I think thats what I’ll do. Write a script, fired by a cron, to restart all three containers hourly and see how that goes. As I said further down, or up where ever this comment lands, that I do, on rare occasions, have issues with it. So, restarting couldn’t really hurt I wouldn’t think.
