It’s gotta be bots. 10% of desktop traffic?

I’m willing to be most people know somebody that is in that list, and most people don’t know somebody who uses linux. That being said, I bet linux usage is not as outward expressing as a lot of those things. Like, you can tell people own cats because you see them on the porch or in the window, but you can’t glance at most linux users’ houses and know that somebody there uses linux.

Are you saying there are banking sites where you have problems logging in using a web browser? Because using a web browser is what I am suggesting.
Replying to @Attacker94@lemmy.world
Most banking (and many other) apps could be a website, and most (all?) banks have websites, so a linux phone could be compatible with most banks the same way a desktop OS is compatible with most banks.
But I agree that we’re several years out from Linux phones becoming anything more than a novelty. It’s still a good path to take. We really need a magic rectangle that is not locked down in any way.

Maybe 2026 can be Year of the Linux Phone.

How far has Lemmy stock fallen? Oh that’s right, there’s no corporation and there are no shareholders. Knowing that sure feels good.

It’s crazy that “local first” has to apply to cars now.

This guy is definitely a reverse centaur. Or as we used to call them, meat puppets.

I have also had great results with meditation aiding my sleep. For me it was mindfulness meditation, and recognizing when my mind was buzzing or going in circles, then letting the thoughts go and coming back to my breath or just observing my empty mind and watching for the first sign of a thought.
For years I was hugely skeptical that saying words in my mind would make a difference, but when I tried a sleep meditation, like a yoga nidra, mentally saying things like “i have nothing else to do, and nowhere else to be. i am here to relax.” really helped. also, when my mind starts going off on a crazy line of thought and i recognize it, i can usually get it to stop by mentally saying “i can think about this tomorrow.” i’m still amazed that it even works. the idea that you can so easily trick (or i guess vocally control?) your own mind just sounds ridiculous. I suppose though that different minds work differently, and the mental words may not work for everybody, or not all the time.
