An apartment block down the road is being cleaned all over its outside by high pressure hose. The loud generators and pumps have been going all day the last couple of days. It reminds me so much of the psychological warfare the Los Angeles Police Department wage against the residents of East Hollywood, flying their helocopter up and down one street for 8 hour stretches to "train the pilots". eeep.

Now on chromium. A tiny hidden search bar up the top of screen leads me to https://opencollective.com/servo

If I click on it I can see "Contribute: Become a financial contributor" but no where to click or no way to proceed. Just a lot of shiny pfps and icons etc about people who did somehow manage to hand them some cash 😵

The year is 2029 the Linux Foundation (sponsored by OpenAI™) has appointed DHH as the new lead maintainer of the Linux kernel. This follows the tragic accident where Linus Torvalds was hit by a bus> Mr Torvalds, founder of the Linux project, was on his way home from annoucing that he will not commit code that has not been reviewed by human maintainer.

(this post is about not keeping all your eggs in one operating system)

llm in libreoffice
I had never actually checked that Libreoffice is accepting LLM contributions but now I've found out they do it is no surprise at all, considering the major malfunctions Writer and Calc make. In Calc you cannot even copy and paste a range of cells as the formulas referencing other cells do not copy over properly. In Writer (or whatever its called) you cannot paste in text without it losing some of the newlines. Basically unusable. Imagine telling a room full of office workers "You can't use Word anymore our company is now using this even bigger steaming turd" within 15 minutes the workers would be throwing office chairs at you.

llm in large software project (boost with cw)
