@gabriel i think it's LARP if people do it for a lone wolf SHTF scenario. you will need your neighbors in all likelyhood. it's nice to have backup power of course, but as you've said, most of the stuff isn't easily repairable.
it's nice to live within your means and trying to rely on your own stuff, this 100% independent dream doesn't work though.
