This one really touched a nerve, I’ve had a number of emails from real maintainers today sharing their stories that end up being way too similar 🥲

Seems that Google AI Overviews still doesn't quite understand satire.
I could not write this homebrew thread as a satire piece if i wanted to, real life is much more cursed: https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-core/issues/289444#issuecomment-5050717674

@nemo GHS payouts show up in OC ledgers as ADDED_FUNDS from the github-sponsors account (~$4.8M all time), and the $42M only counts direct contributions, so there's no overlap. About 5% of GitHub's $100M ends up in collective budgets via OSC.
The packages.ecosyste.ms database migration is complete, but now have 1.2M jobs in the queue to chew through 😅

@veganstraightedge if I’m looping through a big dataset and incrementing counters for undefined number of strings, I use the string as the key in the hash with an initial value of zero, and increment from there. Then by the end I have a hash with string keys and int values
