That’s twice as much as I was paying
Only half as much as I was paying, though, so I’m pretty happy about it.

Ah, yes. Decreasing market share in a shrinking market segment? Obviously, the solution is to raise prices!

They do have GPS trackers inside, but those can be defeated by putting them in a metal container, underwater, or underground. Or they might be disabled if the camera is destroyed and unpowered.

Yeah, I bet it’s just getting replaced with AI bullshit now.
So, now, when you use it to set an alarm, you’ll never really know for sure if the AI fucked it up or not.

It isn’t, not necessarily. But to those kinds of people, it is a bad thing, and it makes them not want to use reddit.

It also doesn’t help that out of people who have heard of reddit, it often has a bad reputation.
Reddit has the reputation of being the social media site for incels, nerds, misogynists, and creeps. Barely one step above 4-chan. Which means there’s a significant portion of potential users out there who have heard or reddit, but would never go there because they don’t like the idea of going to such a place. Whether or not that reputation is truly earned is maybe up for debate, but these people will never go there to find out if it’s true or not, because they’re avoiding it to begin with, based on reputation.

Dale explained that Flock cameras had been instrumental in a To Catch a Predator style sting operation Irmo PD conducted. “During an internet crimes against children operation hosted by a department, 15 adults traveled to our community believing they were coming to meet children for sexual activity," Dale said. “Fourteen of those 15 suspects were not from our jurisdiction.”
This really doesn’t explain how the cameras were useful for that.
Why would you need cameras for that?
