The beauty of YouTube is that the goals of the company are not necessarily the goals of the content creators.

I’ll take any chance I can get to shout out Nick Zentner. Hes a professor of Geology at Central Washington University and he has been posting full length lectures on YouTube for more than 15 years. He is a comprehensive expert in his field and regularly features experts in related fields to help discuss whatever topic he is on at the time.

I used to use his videos to fall asleep, but I have developed a genuine love of geology and vulcanology that I wouldn’t have known about otherwise.

As someone who used to be like that but now has a real fucked up sleep schedule due to unemployment, I can tell you the deciding factor is a consistent sleep period. The vast majority of my career has been waking up at 4am and going to sleep at 8 or 9pm. Thats easy to fall into and even when you’re off your body just knows when its time to sleep and when its time to get up. Ive gotten up on time a few times despite the alarms failing to go off for whatever reason. You want good sleep? Set wake up and bedtime. Your body will adjust.

How often do your knees knock?

Mostly directed at you skinny lemmys. As a luxuriously sized north American, it struck me as odd that I could not recall my knees knocking together since childhood. True, I have enjoyed powerlifting since highschool, but still. I can press my knees together just fine seated or reclining. How often does the average Lemmy feel their knees knock together?
