Heck, even paying for full comprehensive insurance, you still come out ahead by buying on a loan and keeping it for more than 3 years.
The crux is that decently priced loans are denied to the people who actually need it, but leases are not.

When a company says it has a “solution” for the high price, they means they have a “solution” for the big number on the sticker. Not that they actually care about affordability.

The only safe way to do that is to not spend at all. Unless you find a co-op, your money is going to some owner(s) who will use the money as they please. Commercial VPNs are mostly privacy snake oil and ways to get access to media, so abstaining for a while isn’t unreasonable.
