@skobkin TBH, I suspect something like "VideoIdent" behind it. But if so, why not name it? Must be something with "why make it transparent? Who will look at the permissions anyway?"
I don't assume malice here, especially not by the banks. But they don't write the apps themselves – and those who do, "don't know better because they have been taught so", I'm afraid…
Do Banks really wonder why privacy-aware people don't want their apps? A "visiting device" had a.o. "SecureGo plus" from Atruvia installed. With permission of the owner, I've extracted the APK and ran it through our scanner. Apart from multiple tracking libraries, it also wants to RECORD_AUDIO (access the microphone) and also MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS. What for, I wonder? Neither app description nor screenshots/website give a clue…
