Tomorrow comes.

I post popular science news and memes that I find interesting. I also write about work, video games, and life. Currently interested in Open Science and Citizen Science.

Always remember: we need to be kind, especially when we don't know what's going on.

Saw a post that's like "gen z will never understand this but back in my day if you saw as many ads as you do on social media today, it means you had viruses"

And it immediately made me think of my friend who showed me how he plays those shitty cheap mobile games with ads every 30 seconds.

This is a millennial man who is not tech illiterate.

It is one thing to have not seen such a time, but it is another to have lowered your standards so greatly that you accept shit so enthusiastically.

I would view this as a complete failure if anyone on my team felt this way. Nobody should ever be made to feel embarrassed for asking questions. We’re doing challenging and oftentimes confusing work. Good engineers ask questions!

I saw a pretty major contributor to Rust projects making the case for LLMs being used in programming, and one of the things they liked is that you can ask it all the technical questions you want without feeling embarrassed, and what an indictment of the work culture of software engineering that is.
